The Hinkley Lighting Story

Hinkley Lighting was founded in Cleveland, OH, in 1922 by Phil R. Hinkley. Their first catalog contained 14 pieces, focusing primarily on their specialty of solid copper, mostly outdoor, lighting fixtures. In 1937, the company was purchased by Stanley Weidemer, and it has remained in the Weidemer family ever since.

Today, Hinkley Lighting designs mostly transitional lighting with distinctive period accents, as well as minimalist contemporary outdoor light fixtures (some through Hinkley Landscape Lighting, established 1987). In 2007, Hinkley acquired Fredrick Ramond to add a layer of luxury home lighting to their repertoire.
